《贯中的动物园》Paul优秀的纯音乐作品之一
特别是Mick Karn的Fretless Bass演奏为此作品起到了画龙点睛的作用...一直十分喜欢，虽然这位大师的唱片不卖座，但他是真正的音乐人，正如家驹所言:应该尊重音乐 重视音乐人，所以特设此纪念专题，向这位BASS演奏大师致敬！

米克-卡恩
原名叫作安多尼斯-麦克里德斯(Andonis Michaelides)，1958年7月24日生于塞浦路斯的Nicosia，三岁时跟家人移居英国伦敦。在与主唱/吉他手大卫-西尔文(David Sylvian)以及他的弟弟史蒂夫-延森(Steve Jensen)共同组建Japan乐队的时候，米克-卡恩年仅15岁，而Japan乐队首次公开演出是在1974年的6月1日。Japan乐队商业上最为成功的专辑是1981年推出的《Tin Drum》，其中的热门单曲《Ghosts》曾成功打入排行榜前五名。米克-卡恩通晓多种乐器，他不仅会演奏口风琴和小提琴，还会吹奏低音管。在校学习期间，卡恩的低音管被偷，而学校拒绝赔偿，卡恩便从一个朋友那里以五英镑的价格买了一把贝斯开始玩。
除了跟随Japan乐队推出过几张专辑之外，米克-卡恩还发行过多张个人专辑，此外，在1982年，他还曾与包豪斯(Bauhaus)主唱皮特-莫菲(Peter Murphy)组建了一支短命的乐队达利的汽车(Dali's Car)，只发行了一张专辑。在上世纪九十年代，米克-卡恩开始与美国音乐人大卫-托恩(David Torn)和一些日本音乐人合作，并组建了一支新浪潮乐队NiNa。从此之后，卡恩一直都在个人发展。除了在加里-纽曼(Gary Numan)、凯特-布什(Kate Bush)和琼-阿马特拉丁(Joan Armatrading)等音乐人的作品中客串之外，卡恩还曾以雕塑家和摄影师的身份出现在不同的艺术作品当中。卡恩还曾与Japan乐队两位队友一同创建过Medium Productions厂牌。
2004年5月，米克-卡恩离开了英国，和妻子儿子一起回到了塞浦路斯生活。2009年，卡恩还推出了一本名为《Japan & Self Existence》的自传 |
2010年六月份，卡恩通过个人官方网站对外公布了他已经到了癌症晚期。
6月4日，前Japan低音结他手Mick Karn的官方网发表声名，这位英国著名Fretless Bass演奏家早前被诊断身患癌症，而且已进入末期。
目前Mick Karn正在接受治疗，但却面对经济上的问题(他从不是很卖钱的乐手)。故其官方网现发起为他筹务医疗经费的行动，呼吁圈中好友及乐迷助他度过时艰。
捐款可登入Mick Karn的官方网，以PayPal支付；又抑或在前队友Steve Jansen的官方网之Image Shop 购买任何肖像，款项便会捐给 Mick Karn。作为追随他多年的乐迷，但愿他可以度过这个难关、早日康复。

ith great sadness we regret to inform you that Mick has recently been diagnosed with advanced stages of cancer. Mick is currently in a positive mood and undergoing further tests and treatment. His family and friends are close with him, supporting him in practical ways, and surrounding him with their love, friendship and care.
Mick has been struggling financially for some considerable time now and we are hoping that this appeal may help to raise funds for any necessary treatment and perhaps go some way towards providing a small degree of financial support whilst Mick's immediate family provide the care and comfort we would all wish for him. We are hoping that his friends, fans and musical colleagues will, over the coming months, offer any support they feel capable of giving. Quite aside from the sheer brunt of daunting medically-related costs, Mick's clear and major concern is for the security and well being of his wife and young son.

It's with profound sadness that we have to inform you that Mick finally lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at 4.30pm today, 4th January 2011 at home in Chelsea, London. He was surrounded by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

黃家強: 前幾天聽到Mick Karn病逝時心情真很難過，今天接受好友志淙訪問對Mick Karn的感覺，一下子整個人回到年輕時那份對音樂天真和純樸的情懷，自問Mick Karn絕對是影響我彈bass的其中一位，因為他；我愛上無品bass，因為他；我會把音樂更著重藝術化，堅持下去。共勉之！
